Another Step Forward for Darlington: Sidewalk Plan Endorsed

A sidewalk along Ramapo Valley Rd./Rt. 202 is proposed to connect Darlington Schoolhouse and Continental Soliders Park at Ramapo College.

The Mahwah Town Council has endorsed a plan to connect Continental Soldiers Park (CSP) and the Darlington Schoolhouse site with a new sidewalk along busy Ramapo Valley Road/Route 202.  The sidewalk will provide safe pedestrian access between the park, Ramapo College of New Jersey, and the planned Trail Conference headquarters and conservation center for service learning at the Darlington Schoolhouse site. Ramapo College students, who are often seen walking along the busy road, will particularly benefit from the safer walkway. From Darlington, walkers can enjoy a brief walk through the woods to access Ramapo County Reservation. The sidewalk plan next goes to the township’s zoning board of adjustment on Feb. 20 for a public hearing.
